It's June better talk about progress

Wait don't read this

If you want an introduction to the project read the blurb on the project page here:

https://beefjack.itch.io/the-blue-stars

There's also a mildly out of date demo you can download there if you are so inclined

If you want an introduction to the project's development go here and read this:

https://beefjack.itch.io/the-blue-stars/devlog/496764/what-the-hell-im-doing

If you just want clips and snippets of the game go look at this twitter which I post on:

Right, now that I've scared away literally everyone (face it, you aren't real)

I'll talk a bit about progress

Progress from the demo to full game is 30%, actual project completion is 70%-80% though

The game is divided into 6 days, up to the end of day two was included in the demo,

I have since completed day three, day four is like 99% done and day five is started

Day six will include the final boss and game end stuff

So two more in game days to flesh out

What is left:

Generic battles (basically the game's context-less "random" battles) 35/47 complete

Side Story battles are 21/30

Implementation of party members 17/20

Character introduction scenes/battles 15/20

Enemies that require unique programming 45/57

Equip-able and consumable items 45/50

Character bonding scenes 37/95

All the damn music goddammit/fucking

Holy shit I need to get a steam page up, I've gone through all the legal set up but setting up a page with assets and stuff is a bit daunting because I need to basically drop the work I'm doing to look at it and consider it

Hopefully I can get my lazy useless ass to do it before the month is done

Two minor mechanics needs an implementation

In game shops need some extra polish even if they technically work

One mechanic works but it's going to get a cool face lift

Final boss event needs done

Final cut scenes and all that jazz

New game plus stuff I want to do

But me personally?

I moderate my self decently well and have kept up a mostly consistent pace without too much burn out or exhaustion

I had a hard drive failure but It didn't effect too much, still need to check if I can recover any files from it just in case I want anything from it I haven't backed up to github

I still don't really consider the project truly Sisyphean but I can tell you I fucking wince thinking about how much time has been drained working on it and how little traction the game has gotten, and how bleak its success prospects will be

But even if I live in a damp shitty apartment I will game dev

Even if I live in the lap of luxury with no obligation I will still game dev

Even if I live out on the streets I will find a way to game dev

My passion supersedes logic

If you're so fucking weird and bored you read until this point, I love you
